The non-governmental organization Access Israel, which works to advance the rights of people with disabilities in Israel, has launched a new campaign in schools to “teach children about equality, tolerance and acceptance” of people with disabilities in partnership with the company PowerCard.

The project, entitled “The ABC of Accessibility”, will operate in schools all over the country and will be conducted by instructors with disabilities. Children will also experience simulations of various disabilities including blindness, deafness and mobility problems.

Head of Access Israel Yuval Wagner said the NGO “acts in various ways to promote accessibility and the inclusion of people with disabilities in society on the principles of equality, dignity and independence.”

“The best, most moral, effective and educational way to transmit this is through activities with children,” Wagner said, “Changing attitudes among the children of today ensures the integration and equality of tomorrow.”
