At the Russian Compound in Haifa was celebrated the feast day of the Prophet Elijah.

At the 2th of August there is a solemn celebration of the Prophet Elijah which is takes place on the Carmel Mount, because this place is related to the life and priesthood of the prophet. On this day, in the temple of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in honor of the Prophet Elijah in Haifa a festive Divine Liturgy took place, which was headed by Metropolitan Kyriakos of Nazareth.

Divine service was attended by the Secretary of the Mission Fr Anthony (Gutnick), sacristan of the monastery of the Prophet Elijah in Haifa Fr Miroslaw Vitiv, the clergy of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and clergymen from Russia. Services were held on three languages: Church Slavonic, Greek and Arabic. During the Liturgy sisters from Gorny Convent sang with Arabic worshipers. At the end of the Liturgy, there was a festive procession.
