In the Paths of Wine

From 2 to 18 May wine festival will be held in Israel for the fourth time. It will engulf the Galilee, Golan and Northern valleys regions, as the wine industry, especially in the north, is advancing steadily in the recent years. The industry has given space for a few offshoots: wine tastings, visitor centers, wine schools and courses, wine tourism and a lot of colorful characters who make this industry flourish.

The extreme changes in temperatures, the quality of the soil, the rainfall –all these make the Galilee the right place for growing the best wine.

As the festival rolls on, participants will enjoy visiting the various wineries, small and large, industrial, as well as family owned, meet the wine makers and the people who transformed a dream and a hobby into a lucrative profession, and enjoy the fascinating stories connected with each winery, a tour that is nothing less than gripping. Each of the wineries has its own special characteristics and each year medals from around the world are awarded to some of these places. Alongside the wineries a lot of restaurants will offer special menus for wine-dinners, and wine guided tastings will take place – all in a lush green area of lovely scenery.

The festival will start, this year, with a professional wine convention, sponsored by the Galilee schools of wine-making, and at the end of the convention, for the first time, the special award of ” Wine and Grape industry Treasured Friend” will be presented to a person who has contributed to the said industry.

What else awaits you at the festival?
Wine tastings and guided tours, cooperation between wineries, restaurants and wine-makers, unveiling of new Galilee wines, museums, special wine routes, and even the traditional celebrating of the “Shavuot” Holiday – will take on a special event at the height of the festival.
