Feast day of St Mary Magdalene was celebrated in Magdala

On 4 August on courtyard of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Magdala was celebrated the feast day. Magdala – the birthplace of Mary Magdalene, which is also a settlement, located near the Sea of Galilee. The nickname of “Magdalene” traditionally stands for “native of Migdal-el.” It is believed that in this place Jesus cast seven devils out of Mary Magdalene. (more…)

At the Russian Compound in Haifa was celebrated the feast day of the Prophet Elijah.

At the 2th of August there is a solemn celebration of the Prophet Elijah which is takes place on the Carmel Mount, because this place is related to the life and priesthood of the prophet. On this day, in the temple of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in honor of the Prophet Elijah in Haifa a festive Divine Liturgy took place, which was headed by Metropolitan Kyriakos of Nazareth.

“Blue flags” are proudly flutter above the beaches of Israel

Nine Israeli beaches have received the “Blue Flag” of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). It was reported by “Globes”. “Blue Flag” – an international award, given annually to beaches and marinas, where water meets the highest quality standards and suitable for safe swimming. The Israeli beaches joined the list of 4000 holiday destinations marked by “Blue Flag” for the first time in 2013.
